About Drift
a quiet little ocean
Drift is a small mental-health awareness space inspired by an old practice: writing a note, sealing it in a bottle, and letting the tide carry it where it will. Here, the tide is a community of kind strangers — and the friends you choose to invite — who gently write back.
How it works
- Sign in (it stays just between you and us).
- Write a bottle. Send it to the whole community, or only to your circle of invited friends.
- A responder picks it up and writes a thoughtful reply.
- You get a bell notification and an email when a reply has washed ashore.
- Keep a private journal alongside, for the thoughts that aren't for sharing.
A safety note
Drift is not a replacement for professional help. If you're in crisis or you're worried about someone, please reach out to a trained human right now:
- 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US)
- 116 123 — Samaritans (UK & Ireland)
- 13 11 14 — Lifeline Australia
- Or your local emergency number.
Be gentle
When you reply to a bottle, treat the writer like a friend you haven't met yet. No advice unless they ask. No fixing. Just listening, and a little warmth.
